A new Forever Stamp issued Wednesday by the United States Postal Service honors a giant of the civil rights movement.
Constance Baker Motley was the first Black woman to argue a case before the U.S. Supreme Court. She later was the first to be appointed a federal judge.
The civil rights pioneer and judiciary trailblazer is the 47th honoree in the Post Service’s Black Heritage stamp series.
